Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn, is widely recognized as a highly respected and esteemed ballet teacher, director and choreographer. She has dedicated her life to teaching ballet and is renowned for her expertise and excellence in the training of all ages and levels of students.

Founder of the Academy of Dance, Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada (1983 to 2006) she became known for developing some of the finest ballet students that were admired by luminaries of the dance world.

Because of her reputation she received support and testimonials from world reknown dancers, artists and choreographers such as; Veronica Tennant, Mary Jago, Robert Desroisers, the late Betty Oliphant (founder of the National Ballet School of Canada), Arnold Spohr (former director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company), Veronica Tennant, Mary Jago, Frank Augustyn, Robert Desroisers (former principal dancers of the National Ballet Company of Canada), Oliver Dahler (Choregrapher Switzerland and Bern Ballet), and Peter Quanz (International Choreographer and a former student of Carolyn).

Her students have been decorated with numerous 1st place awards and scholarships performing her original works at regional and national competitions. Many of her students have gone on to enjoy professional careers as dancers, choreographers, and teachers. She has coached and taught all levels of a nationally recognized ballet syllabus to which her students have achieved great success.

Acclaimed for her expertise in pedagogy Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn provided valuable knowledge in the development of the National Syllabus of Canadian Dance Teachers Association. In 1999 she was featured in a television documentary (Provincewide) that showcased her school and her talent for directing and teaching. She has been a guest speaker for a radio program (Monday Night with the Arts), re-staged classical works, staged original works, produced ballet galas, workshops, lectures and been nominated for K-W Arts Award.

In 2006 she was hired as a ballet consultant for two schools in New York and in 2009 she was granted a United States 01 Work Visa specifically awarded to candidates of extraordinary ability in the arts.

Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum (American Ballet Theatre), she is a Certified Teacher with Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Society of Russian Ballet and Yoga Alliance®.

Currently she is the director and creator of Les Petits Danseurs (a dance school for children) a division of Huntington Center for Performing Arts, Long Island, New York and is a Ballet Mistress for Huntington Ballet Academy and Long Island Ballet Theatre.
