THE QUEEN STREET CONSERVATORY “The QC” - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
FEES:Monthly fees are due by the 1st of each month. Any fees submitted after the first of the month is subject to a $15.00 late fee.
Any cheque being returned is subject to a $25.00 NSF fee. An automatic payment system is available for your convenience. There are no refunds or transfers on any fees paid to The Queen Street Conservatory. This includes costume down payments, monthly and merchandise payments, class, competition entry fees, and choreography fees. All fees must be paid on time as requested.
COMPETITION: Competitive routines will not be choreographed during regular training hours and will include a choreography fee.
If accepting to participate and perform on the competitive team a 100% commitment is mandatory to the group. It is mandatory
to attend all extra rehearsals and choreography classes, competitions and chosen performances assigned. For the success of a performance piece, it will be at the sole discretion of the instructor to decide if they feel it is essential to have additional run through or cleaning sessions during regular class time.
PARTICIPATING IN THE ADVANCED TRAINING PROGRAM BUT NOT COMPETING: If your child is not performing with a competitive routine throughout the year, a routine will be offered at their training level so they have an opportunity to perform at the yearend show. They may be asked to train as an understudy for a competitive routine and have extra rehearsals. In this case competition costume price and schedule will apply/or a new routine may be offered that will also have extra rehearsals involved. This will be at the sole discretion of the instructor.
ATTENDANCE: Classes start in September and finish in June. If you have committed to the Competitive Company and are planning any personal holidays during non-scheduled studio holidays or choreography, it must be discussed and approved by the Director. Please consult the front desk when it is necessary for your child to miss a regularly scheduled class. Students who are consistently late or absent will not be permitted to participate in competition.
COSTUMES: A $75.00 recreational costume deposit will be due in September for each routine performed in the year end show. The remaining balance will be due upon delivery. Tuition must be current and all outstanding fees must be paid in May in order to participate in the year end recital. A $125.00

TRAINING LEVEL: An instructor reserves the right without notice to remove a student from their class and place them in another class if they feel they do not meet the criteria for the level of program and/or will benefit more from the class they are being assigned.
PRE-COMPETITION SHOWCASE/DRESS REHEARSAL/YEAREND PERFORMANCE: All students of the Queen Street Conservatory must
participate in our dress rehearsal and year end show held in June unless approved by the Director. All competitive dancers must participate if a pre-competition showcase is held. Specific dates and times will be provided closer to the event date.
PHOTO DAY: Attendance for all
students is required. A schedule will be provided
closer to the event date. Photo schedule TBA for all
dancers closer to the event date.
PEANUTS AND HEALTHY SNACKS: The QC would like to emphasize a peanut free environment to ensure the safety of all our dancers and families. Please take extra care when packing your child's dinners and snacks. We also encourage dancers to have nutritious snacks and water is available at all times.
CONDUCT: Proper and respectful conduct is expected at all times within the Conservatory. This means:
- Disrespecting any member of the faculty or peers, foul language, mean spirited behavior and loud boisterous conduct on or around the premises is not acceptable.
- Chewing gum is prohibited on the premises.
- All jewelry must be removed and preferably left at home before class (no safes will be provided for your protection).
- All outer footwear is not permitted past the entrance, professional dance shoes and indoor hip hop street style shoes must be worn at all times as well as proper dance attire.
- No Food or Drink is permitted inside any studios at any
time.
These rules will be vigorously enforced and the QC reserves the right to immediately remove or any student from class that is not adhering to the code of conduct.
SUSPENSION: The QC reserves the right to suspend or remove any student from class or the premises without notice at anytime during the year, should they not comply with the terms and conditions of the Queen Street Conservatory.
CANCELLATIONS: The Queen Street Conservatory reserves the right to cancel any class temporarily or permanently without advance notice or substitute the instructor due to an emergency, weather conditions or lack of students. Classes with fewer than 6 students may be cancelled, combined with another class, and/or moved to a different time slot.
INJURY: Each student and his or her legal guardian(s) hereby releases the Queen Street Conservatory and their directors, teachers, employees, and volunteers involving any personal injury sustained in, on, or about the facilities at any time.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS: Each student and his or her legal guardian(s) hereby release the Queen Street Conservatory the rights to all photography and video that may be taken by or for the QC during class, performances or competition, for use in advertising and promotion, including television coverage.
CONCERNS/COMPLAINTS: If a student or legal guardian has a complaint or concern and the Director is not immediately available, please call and make an appointment so your concerns can be resolved as soon as possible.
